TREATMENT COMPARISONS

Profhilo vs Profhilo Structura: What Is the Difference?

Two treatments from the same product family, with different aims. Understand the distinction before discussing your options at a consultation.

When you are comparing Profhilo with Profhilo Structura, the similar names can make the choice seem simpler than it is. They are separate injectable treatments. Choosing between them starts with understanding the change you would like to address, rather than assuming that one is an upgraded version everyone should choose.

At The Skin Specialist Nurse, both have their own treatment information. This guide brings the main distinction together and helps you prepare questions for an individual assessment.

Profhilo treatment information

The main difference at a glance

Profhilo

The established Profhilo treatment focuses on skin quality, hydration and laxity. It is considered when the concern relates to how the skin looks and feels.

Profhilo Structura

Structura has a different formulation and is designed for treatment of superficial facial fat compartments. Its role relates to changes in facial soft tissue, including the cheek area.

Both are based on hyaluronic acid, but a shared ingredient does not make them interchangeable. Their intended treatment roles and placement differ. Your practitioner should explain the exact product proposed and why it is relevant to your concerns.

Start with your concern, rather than a product name

It helps to describe what you notice in everyday language. You might be concerned about skin that looks less smooth, feels dry, appears less firm or has changed around the cheeks. These observations can overlap, and photographs or online descriptions cannot establish which treatment is appropriate for you.

Bring your questions to a consultation. Explain when you first noticed the change, which area matters most to you and what a worthwhile improvement would mean. You can also explain what you would prefer to avoid. This gives the practitioner a clearer starting point than arriving with a product already selected.

Is Profhilo Structura simply stronger Profhilo?

No. It is more useful to understand Structura as a separate treatment with a different purpose. Calling it “stronger” suggests that everyone who is considering Profhilo should move to Structura, which does not follow from the distinction between the products.

A recommendation should relate to your assessment and the treatment aim. Ask the practitioner to explain why the proposed approach fits that aim, what alternatives exist and what the treatment cannot reasonably achieve. You do not need to decide from the name alone.

How do they compare with dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are another treatment category, often discussed in relation to volume and facial definition. A consultation may involve a comparison of different approaches, but similar-looking concerns do not always call for the same procedure.

Our existing Profhilo and dermal fillers comparison covers that separate question. Keep the distinction in mind when reading: this guide compares two Profhilo products, while the other article considers Profhilo alongside fillers. Neither replaces an individual assessment.

What should you ask at the consultation?

Use the appointment to understand the proposed plan before consenting. Useful questions include:

  • Which concern are we treating, and which product are you recommending?
  • Why does that treatment fit my assessment?
  • What improvement is realistic, and what will it leave unchanged?
  • What alternatives could I consider, including choosing no treatment?
  • What are the risks, likely recovery and aftercare requirements?
  • How many appointments are proposed, and when will we review the outcome?

Tell the practitioner about your health, medicines, allergies, previous aesthetic procedures and any reactions you have experienced. Let them know about pregnancy, breastfeeding or plans that may affect the timing of treatment. Suitability needs to be assessed rather than assumed from a general guide.

Planning appointments, recovery and expectations

A treatment plan should include more than the injection appointment. Ask how preparation, follow-up and any review fit together. If you have an important event, discuss it before choosing dates and allow for the recovery advised for your individual plan.

Injectable treatments carry risks. Temporary effects can include swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising; other complications are possible. Ask for a clear explanation of the risks for the proposed procedure and how to contact the clinic if you are concerned afterwards.

Results vary. Neither product should be presented as a guaranteed lift, a substitute for surgery or a promise that everyone will achieve the same change. Your consultation is the place to discuss the likely limits as well as the potential benefits.

Comparing the cost of Profhilo and Structura

Use the clinic’s current Profhilo and injectable-treatment price list as a starting point. Compare the proposed course, product, treatment area and number of appointments, rather than comparing two isolated session prices.

Ask what is included in the quote and whether a review or any later maintenance would be a separate cost. The current price list and your confirmed treatment plan should guide the decision; an article should not be treated as a fixed personal quote.

Profhilo or Profhilo Structura: your next step

If you are still unsure which treatment to ask about, begin with a skin consultation. You can explain your concerns without committing to either option. The clinic can discuss the relevant information and whether a treatment assessment is appropriate.
